ACCULTURATION -----

We shall use this word to describe the process through which a community adopts the characteristics of a coexisting culture once this same community is taken out of its original cultural or social environment. Acculturation often starts by exchanges of tools and techniques, but can also concern the field of language or that of beliefs.

This process often uses imitation; most of the time, the weakest group imitates the strongest one.
